SFS chairman Jacob Färnert writes a debate article in the Alting about higher education pedagogy and the importance of higher education taking responsibility for the quality of education.
In Sweden, we often throw around nice words about "excellence" and "knowledge nation". I wish we ask ourselves if it is really realistic, given that higher education is constantly being de-prioritized in favor of research and the condescending concept of "teaching burden" is frequently used in the university corridors.
With freedom comes responsibility. If Sweden's universities are to gain greater autonomy and the government wants Swedish education to be world-leading, it is important to move from words to action.
