Högskolepodden #17 – Research policy

“We have gone from big leaps to small steps” in Sweden’s research policy, says Mats Benner. He is a professor of research policy and vice-chancellor at the School of Economics and Business at Lund University. Sweden was long seen as a pioneer in the field, but now many believe that the policy is too fragmented.

Next year, the government will present a new research bill, which will describe research policy for the next four years. Mats Benner and Jacob Färnert, chairman of SFS, discuss what we need to do to become a leading country again.
