Student representative to SeQF, the Council for the National Qualifications Framework

Background

Sweden's Qualifications Framework (SeQF) is based on a common European Qualifications Framework EQF - European Qualifications Framework, to which most European countries are members.

SeQF is a system for classifying and designing qualifications to ensure their clarity, transferability and quality. It is a translation tool that describes different qualifications in the form of learning outcomes. This makes it easier to compare qualifications from studies and working life both nationally and internationally. Issuers of qualifications whose learning outcomes are not regulated by the constitution can apply to the Agency for Polytechnics (MYH) to refer their qualifications in SeQF.

The SeQF Council is linked to MYH and brings together representatives from the Swedish Public Employment Service, the Folkbildningsrådet, LO, the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise, Sweden Municipalities and Regions (SKR), the National Agency for Education, SACO, the University and College Council (UHR), the University Chancellor's Office (UKÄ), the Swedish University and University Association (SUHF) and SFS. The council is advisory and shall assist the authority with documentation before deciding which level a qualification corresponds to in accordance with Sections 4 and 9 of the Ordinance (2015: 545) on the reference framework for qualifications for lifelong learning.

The council normally meets 4 times a year, three of the meetings are digital and one meeting is held at MYH's office in Västerås. Each meeting takes 2 hours. Between meetings, participants in the Council have the opportunity to submit their views in writing via Teams on the matters that will be presented. Both members and deputies are invited to the meetings.

The assignment is not remunerated, but MYH is responsible for travel compensation.
