Report release: Students' finances - since the corona pandemic and from a longer perspective

Read the report here

The autumn of 2020 is in many ways similar to the spring of 2020 in that the corona pandemic seems to continue and thus also its infection control restrictions, which affects society and the national economy to a very high degree. This has thus affected both the students' study situation in the form of a teaching that was quickly converted to being digital in many ways, as well as the economy in the form of missed extra jobs and summer jobs.

Due to this, SFS examined students' finances in several different contexts. Among other things, another Novus survey that asked 300 university students around the country how they planned to support themselves during the summer.

SFS is now releasing a new report where we follow up students 'financial situation under Corona but also look at students' finances in the longer term. What does the situation look like? And what can be done about it? The report is based on a follow-up Novus survey conducted by SFS and the purpose of the survey was to map university students' financial situation in general and with specifically linked to the corona pandemic.

The report shows, among other things, that just over half of the university students believe that they do not have full coverage for their expenses via the study grant. We also present a number of proposals from SFS to create a better study economy.

The report is attached below together with the novus survey in its entirety.
