Recommendations on the process for applying for student union status

SFS has drawn up recommendations on the process for applying for student union status. Read them here!

The recommendations are addressed to universities and student associations working with the union status process. They address both state universities and individual education providers, as well as affiliated student associations, although on slightly different premises.

The recommendations describe the process that is largely regulated for state universities through the Higher Education Act and the Student Union Ordinance. In addition to a description of the legislation and some suggested interpretations, the recommendations also contain certain additions that are also voluntary for the state universities and related student associations that are covered by the legislation.

The legislation relating to the union status process does not cover individual training providers. SFS recommends that individual education providers follow the same rules on a voluntary basis, unless the university and the local student organizations agree otherwise.
