SFS hires a student representative for the university of applied sciences

SFS is now hiring a student representative for the university of applied sciences, in a joint effort with the Authority for the University of Applied Sciences. Thus, student influence at universities of applied sciences will for the first time have independent support at national level.

Elin Frösell most recently comes from FEI, the Business Economics Institute. As a student representative for the university of applied sciences, she will be a national focal point for student influence for education programs around the country.

Elin's mission is to contribute to the development of student influence at universities of applied sciences in Sweden. She must also support student representatives and be available for advice and support to these representatives.

- That the students should have influence over their surroundings should be obvious in all educations. We have known for a long time that this needs to be developed within the university of applied sciences and it feels good to be able to contribute to that work, says Elin Frösell.

Today, there are few support functions for students at the university of applied sciences if problems arise during their studies. The problem has been noticed by, among others, SFS in the past, most recently in a report from SFS 2020.

A few student unions have been started, but often students have to handle matters themselves vis-à-vis the education provider or the Authority for the University of Applied Sciences. Now there will be an independent support function, which will benefit both the working environment and the quality of the studies.
