SFS-DK's Linnéa Carlsson is part of the new research committee

Today, the government appoints a new research committee, which will act as advisors in the development of the next research proposal. Linnéa Carlsson, former chair of the SFS doctoral committee, will be one of the members.

Linnéa Carlsson will represent the students' and doctoral students' perspective in the development of the government's research proposal, which will guide research policy for the next four years.

- It will be incredibly fun and challenging to, together with colleagues, assist the government in the preparation of the research policy for the coming years. I hope that with my perspective as a doctoral student and junior researcher, I can highlight a long-term perspective in research policy that is often lacking.

Education Minister Mats Persson makes the following statement in government press release:

- My ambition is that the quality of Swedish research should increase and that the conditions for research-intensive innovation should be strengthened. In an age where resistance to facts is increasingly widespread, free research needs to be protected. Unbound research is an inalienable part of aid in the open society. Higher education and research are crucial for Sweden's supply of skills and for Sweden to be able to be competitive and to meet various societal challenges.
