Apply to the committee that plans SFS '100th anniversary celebrations!

The application period has been extended to 1 May. Under the leadership of the event coordinator, the anniversary committee is responsible for the implementation of the ceremony. For PDF version of this information, clicking here.  

Common purpose of the ceremony:

  • Attention and celebrate 100 years of national student influence in Sweden

Common goals:

  • Create an overview / memory of SFS's history since 1921 
  • Communicate successes and the importance of a national student influence
  • Celebrate 100 years of national commitment
  • Pay attention to and celebrate Sweden's student unions' national & international influence
  • Pay attention to the students' unique role throughout history and especially in our time as co-creators of academia, the city and society 
  • To spread SFS's questions in connection with the celebration.

Points of celebration:

  • The Anniversary Committee is responsible, in consultation with the Board's working group, for producing a detailed timetable for the anniversary year 2021 and a plan for anniversary writing is drawn up.
  • 30 August 2020: 100 years since the initiative for SFS was taken in Gothenburg
  • Autumn: Continued anchoring with the membership
  • Autumn 2020 / beginning of spring 2021
  • Anniversary letter is completed and sent to print 2021
  • 12–13 February 2021: 100 years since the unions met in Uppsala for a "deliberation on the formation of a national student union of the Swedish student unions"
  • 18–19 March 2021: 100 years since SFS was founded
  • Anniversary Banquet March 19, 2021
  • Possibly smaller events in connection with member meetings during the year 2021/2022
  • Report is presented to the board with evaluation of process, work and celebration

Assignment of the Anniversary Committee

  • Plan how SFS 100 years will be celebrated.
  • Under the direction of the event coordinator, be responsible for the implementation of the ceremony. 
  • After the ceremony, the committee will evaluate the process and implementation and report to the Board in 2021/2021. 

The work will be led by event coordinator Katharina Metsis, who will have overall responsibility for work management and contact with SFS's board and office. The Jubilee Committee aims to be the event coordinator's support in the ongoing work. The number of people per area of ​​responsibility is flexible and depends on how large the interest is.

Assignment

There are four different areas of responsibility to apply for in the anniversary committee, in some cases it may be relevant to have several people in each position of responsibility:

Communications Manager (s)

Be responsible for all communication, in collaboration with the communicator at SFS office, around SFS 100 years.

  • editor of the anniversary publication
  • design & marketing responsibility

Technology + local manager (s)

Have responsibility for having contact with technicians and be responsible for all the practicalities around the room, such as keeping track of escape routes, decoration, contact with catering, etc.

  • technical responsibility 
  • decoration / local responsibility

Guest manager (s)

Responsibility for inviting guests, travel & hotel bookings for them, facilitating sponsors on site.

Volunteer manager (s)

Overall responsibility for recruiting volunteers; communicate, recruit and coordinate with other "departments"

Notification

When appointing the committee, diversity among the members will be taken into account. Merit is experience of similar assignments as well as knowledge of and involvement in the Swedish National Union of Students.

  • Scope of assignments: end of May / agreement 2020 - 26 March 2021
  • Workload: The assignment involves ongoing work with continuous reconciliations, and more intensive work closer to the end date. A preliminary estimate is five hours of work in a normal week, and up to twenty hours a week / weeks around the end date.
  • Last day for registration: 1 May 2020
