The Swedish National Union of Students, SFS, stands in solidarity with the people of Ukraine, and condemns the recent acts of war from Russia. As part of the international student movement we are especially concerned for all the students, doctoral students, researchers and academic institutions of Ukraine.
The international committee of SFS (Komit) and the doctoral student committee in SFS (SFS-DK) would like to stress the scope of the alarming situation and the immediate as well as the long-term devastating effects it will have on the country.
SFS strongly encourages Swedish higher education institutions to bring its students and doctoral students back home from Ukraine and Russia, and the Swedish government to allow Ukrainian students and researchers to stay in Sweden if desired.
