SFS in Almedalen 2025

SFS is fully preparing for this year's Almedalen Week, where we will be there from Tuesday to Friday.

We promote the student voice, largely through individual meetings, but also in our own and others' panel discussions. Below we list all events where SFS is involved.

Are you in Almedalen? Come and listen!

Panel discussions arranged by SFS

Wednesday (25/6)

How do we strengthen academic freedom?

Together with Sweden's university teachers and researchers (SULF), Sweden's university and university association (SUHF), Sweden's young academy and Arena for research and democracy

The government has appointed an inquiry into academic freedom and announced one on the form of association of higher education institutions. What do we know about academic freedom, and what do the inquiries need to consider?

Time and place: 10.20 – 11.20, Skeppsbron 24, Joda Bar and Kitchen, “VA's arena”

The seminar will be webcast.

Thursday (26/6)

How do we make higher education policy an election issue in 2026 – and do we want to?

Together with the Swedish University Association (SUHF)

How can we get higher education policy on the agenda ahead of the election campaign? Higher education affects the whole of society and is crucial for Sweden's development. Yet higher education rarely becomes an election issue.

Time and place: 08.00 – 09.00 (breakfast from 07.30), Cramérgatan 3, B-huset, main entrance Uppsala University, room B51
