We therefore address you as a head of department, dean and equivalent: it is your responsibility to know what emissions are caused in your particular activity, to see their context and to actively use that knowledge to reduce emissions to levels that are compatible with a future. The efforts must be systematic and supported by faculty- or university-wide tools that make it possible to base an analysis of the actual emissions as closely as possible. You need to be able to answer the question: Who is responsible for which part of the activity's emissions and what can be done to reduce them?
