Digital member meeting

SFS invites you to a digital member meeting to discuss various current parts of the operation and to create a discussion among SFS members. The member meeting is an opportunity for SFS members to provide input on SFS operations and exchange experiences.

The agenda for this digital member meeting is as follows.

Welcome!

New political focus issue

At the SFS General Council in May, a new political focus issue for SFS will be decided, which will set the framework for SFS's main political work for the next three years. It is time for us to start determining the focus of future proposals and which substantive issues will be highlighted. During the digital member meeting, the board will present the main tracks and substantive issues that members have expressed as important so far and what happens next in the board's development of the proposal.

Opinion development in artificial intelligence

The SFS board is tasked, following a decision by the SFS general council in May 2023, with forming a fact-based opinion on artificial intelligence (AI). The board plans for the result of this to be a proposal for an addition to the SFS opinion program. The final proposal will be presented in a bill in the spring of 2024. Under this item, the board presents its current proposal for an addition to the opinion program regarding AI and opens up for discussion about the proposal as well as a broader dialogue about AI and how the student unions think it affects education at universities.

The proposal can be read in the document attached further down on the event page.

Members are encouraged to take note of the proposal and consider the following questions.

  • Is AI a current discussion at your university? If so, in what way?
  • What areas of higher education do you think AI will impact the most?
  • What do you think about the proposal from the SFS board?

SFS budget process

Last year we had an assignment to work with a transparent budget process. It is something that we will continue with this fiscal year! During this point we will go through SFS's budget process to create greater understanding for the members and facilitate the SFS general council in May where the annual report is discussed and next year's budget is decided.

The word is free

For this member meeting, we have set aside time where the floor is open to the student unions. It is an opportunity to either ask questions to SFS or raise a topic that is current in your student union and that you would like to discuss with other student unions.
