It's a strange year! The SFS housing report 2020 shows that a full 15 cities are marked green, which means that new students get housing at the start of the semester. 11 cities are marked yellow, which means that students are offered housing within one semester. 7 cities are marked red, which means that it takes more than one semester for new students to get housing.
Overall, the housing situation for students has improved in 10 cities. But much of this is due to the corona pandemic, as an unusually large number of students are studying remotely and many international students are not attending. So we have not addressed the fundamental problem of the housing shortage. More housing with affordable rents for students needs to be built
