It's a strange year! SFS housing report 2020 shows that as many as 15 cities are marked in green, which means that new students get a home at the start of the semester. 11 cities are marked in yellow, which means that students are offered housing within one semester. 7 cities are marked in red, which means that it takes more than one semester for new students to get a home.
All in all, the housing situation for students has improved in 10 cities. But much depends on the corona pandemic, as unusually many study at a distance and many international students are absent. We have thus not addressed the basic problem of the housing shortage. More housing needs to be built with affordable rents for students
