Today we write in the University Teacher about the work against sexual harassment within the academy. Our goal is that no sexual harassment should occur in the university. The higher education institutions must intensify their work to prevent and deal with sexual harassment, and we of course want to be a partner in this in the future as well. The Swedish National Union of Students, SFS, represents students and doctoral students throughout Sweden and monitors systems and structures when it comes to students and universities. There is a lot left to demand here. There are many examples of how vulnerable a student or young researcher can be in the academy, for example in relation to a supervisor or more senior colleague. In the academic world, this kind of power relationship is unfortunately common and it has consequences.
