The #3 networking event for education managers

Theme: Artificial intelligence in higher education

When: Thursday 25 January 2024 at 15:15 – 17:00

Place: Digital via Zoom (sent out to member clubs via invitation)

It's time for the third meeting of the Network for Education Managers (NFUA)! At this meeting we will focus on the theme of Artificial Intelligence in higher education.

With the rapid technological development, the use of artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly relevant in the academic world. But how does this affect students and their learning? And what challenges and opportunities does AI present to our higher education institutions? Several student unions have reported both positive and negative experiences connected to AI. During the meeting, we will discuss how student unions can collaborate with universities to optimize the use of AI in education and ensure that the technology's potential is fully exploited while taking into account the interests of students.

We will begin by hearing Peter Parnes, professor of distributed computer systems at Luleå University of Technology, lecture about generative AI in higher education, challenges, opportunities and future prospects.

We will have joint discussions about AI and issues that we need to tackle together!

The network for education managers (NFUA) is a network within SFS. The purpose of the network is competence development, cooperation in quality issues and to form an arena for dialogue between education managers at different student unions. The network is coordinated by the SFS Quality Committee (SQC). The committee functions as a hub for quality issues within the student movement and for ongoing contact with relevant actors regarding the national quality system and its development.

Please get in touch [email protected] if you have any questions or concerns. If you are from a member union and have not received an invitation, it is also fine to contact [email protected] the invitation will go out to you shortly.
