Network meeting #7 Circle of choir leaders

Theme: Lead other leaders

As a union leader, you are expected to lead other non-profit leaders. That role entails special challenges and opportunities.

  • How do you find the balance between fun and responsibility?
  • How do you motivate others to stand up and take on non-profit assignments?
  • How do you handle strong informal leaders?
  • How do you handle when others expect you to have all the answers and know everything?

Tom shares his thoughts and experiences in leading other leaders. You as a participant will also get to reflect and share your experiences.

Interview leader and guest is Tom Edoff fd. union president and head of office at Dalarna's student union

Tom has been non-profit active since the age of 12 and has had a number of assignments in civil society. When he was chairman of the Dalarna Student Union, he worked hard to get the association back on its feet financially, while at the same time the work on a cultural change gained momentum. Nowadays, he is an honorary member of Dalarna's Student Union and is always ready to help the association if needed. Leading people to grow and dare to take their place is the best thing he knows, but it sometimes comes at a price.

The word is free

Here there is room to raise issues that are current at the moment with your student union that you feel a need to discuss with others.

A new network launched as part of the SFS organizational focus issue on engagement. The network is aimed at you who have a position in your student union and want to exchange experiences on leadership, organisation, commitment and board issues.

The networking event is exclusive to student unions that are members of SFS and SFS elected representatives. Are you interested in joining the network? Contact [email protected].
