Networking meeting #2 for student welfare representatives

Welcome to the spring's first SSO network meeting!

Theme: threats, violence and harassment

During the autumn, several cases have been noticed where students have experienced insecurity on campus or in connection with teaching. At the same time, researchers are exposed to threats and harassment, both from students and outsiders. This raises the question of how universities and SSOs can work with issues of harassment, threats and violence.

Our guest lecturer is David Brax, PhD in practical philosophy. David has been a senior investigator at the national secretariat for gender research since 2018 and received his doctorate in practical philosophy at Lund University in 2009. David's work focuses primarily on issues related to hatred and threats in society and the consequences thereof.

David is currently working on a survey concerning vulnerability to threats and hatred in the Swedish higher education sector. The survey is based on a survey on the extent, forms, distribution and consequences of vulnerability and concern about vulnerability in the sector. One sub-report was published in July 2022 and a final report is scheduled to be published in the spring of 2024.

As usual, there will also be time for the network participants to raise their own questions that they want to discuss with the network.
