Today, Linn Svärd takes over as SFS's new Chairman and Oskar M Wiik as Vice Chairman. The new presidium was elected by the SFS Council at the end of April and will now take office.

Linn Svärd has been Vice Chairman of SFS during the previous financial year and is now stepping up as Chairman. During the past year, she has had a strong focus on the work with students' mental health and housing issues.

Oskar M Wiik most recently came from the role of chairman of Stockholm's student unions' central organization (SSCO). He has a long involvement in student policy issues and has previously been Chairman of Södertörn University's student union SöderS.

“That the new financial year has now begun and we get to start working feels fantastically fun. It feels important to have received this trust from the members and we are very much looking forward to the coming year. There is a lot to do in everything from increased quality of education to reduced mental illness among students. To be able to drive the work for better conditions for all Sweden's students together with student unions all over the country should be an honor. ”

In connection with the new presidium taking office, Simon Edström will resign as Chairman after two years in SFS presidium.

It is with great humility and gratitude that I leave the role of chairman of the student movement, SFS. I have so many to thank for everything, but I especially want to thank everyone who has supported SFS and contributed to making a real difference for Sweden's hundreds of thousands of students. Together we achieve a lot - thank you very much for me and long live the student movement! ”
