SFS recommendations to higher education institutions during the corona pandemic

SFS has gathered all SFS member corps and board to produce national recommendations to the universities during the corona pandemic. The recommendations can be read below and the document in its entirety can be downloaded here.

SFS believes that neither teaching nor examination should be covered by the same rules as for general gatherings, but that higher education institutions must adapt to the prevailing situation and only have physical education and examination in cases where it is strictly necessary. Adaptations of teaching and examination must take place at the local level and not be regulated nationally. Dialogue between the university and the student union must always be safeguarded and the student unions' views towards the university must always be given priority.

Recommendations

  • Higher education institutions will continue to keep premises open to students. It is important that students have access to study places and libraries in order to be able to participate in teaching regardless of home environment.
  • Physical elements must be conducted with great restraint to limit the spread of infection. Any physical elements must be adapted to limit the spread of infection.
  • In any physical education, higher education institutions must continue to prioritize novice students and internationally arriving students.
  • Dissertations should, as far as possible, take place in digital format.
  • Examination should not, as far as possible, take place physically.
  • Physical examination must be permitted, but only carried out if it is not possible to carry out the examination in another way with acceptable quality and legal certainty.
  • If a physical examination takes place, there must be adaptations for students in the risk group.
  • If a physical examination takes place, there must be good opportunities for extra examination opportunities, so that students who need to forgo the examination in order to follow recommendations are not only referred to regular re-examination.
